Have you guys seen this?
Simon, apparently, is starring in a film.

'Black Pond' - starring Chris Langham and Simon Amstell, from 'The Independant', 10.04.2011

Jokes, I thought; surely not.  But then:

Thoughts? Opinions? Squee?

ETA: the official website for the film is here: blackpondfilm.com

I have to admit I'm quite looking forward to seeing Simon's part. :)

Forgot I wasn't logged in there, that last comment was me. :P
Is that why you're calling yourself 'Greg'?: Axehandsgregoria44 on April 11th, 2011 03:11 pm (UTC)
Hmm. Bet Paul Whitehouse is over the moon to have his name linked with Chris Langham again. Now, where've we heard about CL drawing from experience before? Oh, yes, in paltry defence of his sorry little self.

Hm. I do know what you mean. But I'm honestly just looking forward to seeing Simon acting (ie. not playing himself). I also think, objectively, that the film looks pretty interesting.

Do you think not? When I saw the trailer, my first thought was how professional he seemed as an actor. I'm excited for him too - he's clearly been busy lately. Quite looking forward to seeing his performance. :)

I don't know, I think there's a difference. Even if his character is quite similar to his real personality, he's still acting. There was nothing jarring to me about his acting in the short clips in the trailer. Guess we'll have to wait and see to be sure! :)

So... awkward. But it's him, so I guess that's to be expected.

But that doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to it. I mean Simon! In a movie! Sporting glasses and straight black hair!

Haha, yes, the character he's playing is apparenly an eccentric psychiatrist - plenty of room for awkwardness. :P

I know - Simon! In a movie! I was really surprised to see it - it's not a direction I would have thought he'd ever move into. I'm loving the glasses, but missing the curls. :P

It will be indeed. :D

How terrible is it that because of Grandma's House, my first thought was "Ooh, his mum must be proud!" and not "Good for Simon!"?

I thought that too! She must be squeeing about this loads more than we are/Simon was. :P

I know, it's a shame CL is in it - it does sort of spoil it a little. If I get a chance to see it, though, I definitely will - I couldn't miss seeing SA's first film role.

I think the role he's playing looks to be quite close to his own personality - but I still count it as acting, it's still a different character. I can totally see him as an eccentric physchologist. :)
